Public transport
Services to and through the Lower Don Valley are extensive and include trains, trams and buses. Trains link Sheffield, Meadowhall and Rotherham, trams go from Sheffield to Meadowhall and buses cover a wide range of routes.

Bus
There are many bus services running to and through the Lower Don Valley area, mainly run by First Group. These include:
- 69 bus - Sheffield to Rotherham, along Attercliffe/Sheffield Road
- X78 bus - Sheffield to Rotherham, along Brightside Lane / Meadow Bank Road
- A1 bus - Rotherham and Sheffield to Sheffield Business Park (the former Sheffield City Airport site)
Which ticket? - Bus ticket singles are bought on the bus and will generally cost around £1.50 or £1.80. Anything more on a return journey and you should buy a Rotherham or Sheffield First Day Pass at £4 (a county pass is £4.50). Tram
The Stagecoach Supertram is a quick way to get to places along Attercliffe Road/Common from either Meadowhall or Sheffield city centre. Stops include Attercliffe, Don Valley Stadium, Valley Centertainment and Carbrook.
Which ticket? - Single tickets are bought on the tram and generally cost between £1.70 and £2.10. A Dayrider ticket at £3 will probably be a cheaper option than getting two singles. See also the Stagecoach Megarider weekly and monthly passes.

Train
For quick and cost effective journeys between Sheffield, Meadowhall and Rotherham we recommend you use the train. A single will probably cost £2.10 and a return £3.10. Train services from Sheffield connect with the Eurostar service at St Pancras station in London, offering low carbon travel to Paris and Brussels. Mainline Local services also operate from Meadowhall and Rotherham Central.
