Planning the journey and getting updates
There are many websites that enable you to work out how to get from A to B. We recommend you use Transport Direct. Put in where you are going from and to and it will give you directions and a map.
For traffic and road works updates see the following:
- Motorway - Traffic England
- Rotherham - Local roadworks
- Sheffield - Traffic cameras (Sheffield City Council) and general road works (Sheffield City Council)
- South Yorkshire - BBC South Yorkshire. Get There Sooner will be developed this year to give overall traffic/service updates
Car Sharing
Car Share South Yorkshire is a website, free for people in the county to find others to share a car journey with - giving and taking lifts. When you register it records where you want to travel and shows on a map people taking a similar route.
Car sharing is a great way to share the cost of a journey. The following organisations/groups in the area also have sections in Car Share South Yorkshire for their employees to find colleagues to car share with:

- Meadowhall Shopping Centre
- Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council
- Sheffield City Council
